Speakers' Corner

Starting July 1 2009, the Featherston Community Centre will be hosting Speakers' Corner, a lecture series starring some very interesting members of our community. These evenings of talks, discussion and supper will begin at 7:30pm on the first Wednesday of every month from July to December.

Geoscientist Dr. Troy Baisden begins the series with a presentation on his recent trip to Easter Island. Sue Latta, our very own Muay Thai (kickboxing) world champion, will share some motivational stories in August. David Savage, professional team and leadership coach, will join us in September to share ideas from his work with some of NZ's most successful people. In October we will hear some exciting underwater tales from Mark Fenwick, part of the team who worked on the giant squid at Te Papa. November brings us the fabulous Kate Mead, producer and presenter of Sound Lounge on Radio NZ Concert. And in December, who else but Warren Maxwell, composer and musician for Trinity Roots, Fat Freddy's Drop and Little Bushman. What a line-up!

These evenings promise to expand our minds and social circles. We look forward to seeing you there!
